General Information

 

This year the family reunion will be held on Saturday, June 6th, at the home of Caitlin Diffley in Colorado Springs, CO, preceded by a Friday evening informal gathering at the home of Sky and Nick Orton in Denver.  You can get to Colorado Springs directly by air, or you can fly into Denver and drive down.  The drive is about 1.5 hours.  For those of you doing the Friday evening thing, Denver is obviously the best option.  See the “Directions To” section below for how to get to all the events, and all necessary contact information in case you get lost.

 

Important: Please be sure to contact both Sky and Caitlin as indicated below if you will be attending these events so they can plan for how much food to have on-hand.

 

Friday Evening

Friday evening’s activities begin around 5pm with an informal gathering at Sky and Nick’s home in Denver.  You may arrive at 5pm or after for a drop-in/open house. They will have chili, snacks, and drinks.  If your flight gets in earlier, please just call to make sure they are home. Joanne and Acacia will already be there as well.

Saturday

On Saturday the activities move to Colorado Springs.  Festivities will begin at 10:30 AM at the Air Force Academy, Picnic Area “B”, and will include a BBQ, horseshoes, volleyball, kickball, and potentially tours of the Air Force Academy.  The picnic area is on the public part of the base so there should not be any restrictions for visitors. However, please make sure that vehicle registration and insurance are up to date because the gate guards may want to check the vehicle and papers in addition to IDs.

 

Around 2pm we’ll take an intermission (rest, relax, shower, whatever you need), then reconvene at Caitlin’s house around 4:30pm for dinner, s’mores, the untalent show, poker, etc.
